Family of 3 from Canada in California West Coast Ocean Sweeps Victims Touring Visting Beach Disaster

Friday November 21st, 2025, 12:38 PM-Monterey Country California- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Victim's unit assisted with operations to locate a family of 3 that came from Calgary Alberta Canada that had been sucked into the undertow ocean trench of the Pacific and submerged under water.

A five-year-old girl went missing was swept away in a Monterey Country California tidal 15-20 high foot wave. The wave captured and carried the little girl and her father out to sea into the Pacific Ocean before 1 P.M. near Rocky Point Restaurant, the Monterey County Sheriff's Office released a statement.

The Monterey County Sheriff's Office commented known information responded the 7-year-old girl's father had been identified as Yuji Hu of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The little girl is identified as Anzi Hu.

The mother of the little girl tried to reach out for her daughter, also his 7year-old Anzi Hu and Father Yuji Hu, but it was too late. The mother has been swept into the water police reported.

The father tried to control the dangerous situation by holding on to her daughter and the mother made it back to shore, appearing beside a 2-year-old who wasn't harmed, police issued a statement.

CPR has been administered to the father after the rescue from the ocean police succented. After taken to the hospital and life-saving procedures medical operations had been performed, he had been pronounced dead, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

The mother survived saved in stable condition with mild acute hypothermia, a report has been disclosed by the sheriff's office to further comment about the investigation to the incident.
